it's always best to start at the beginning

to blog, or not to blog?

i've wrestled with this dilemma for as long as onling blogs have been around. 6 or 7 years ago maybe? i don't remember. time goes by so fast.

i've always thought no. maybe it's because i didn't really get it...maybe because i didn't want to. isn't a diary supposed to be something little girls keep under their beds, locked away, for their eyes only? it just seemed so unorthodox that the concept of journaling could spin so drastically from lock and key, to public domain. every word accessible, available for scrutiny.

this isn't going to be a diary, or a laundry list of my daily activities. this isn't going to be a window to my most intimiate thoughts. this isn't going to be a battle ground for passive-aggressive banter.

this is going to be a reflection--however distorted--of my opinions, emotions, and moods. i may post daily. i may not post for weeks or months at a time. this will be my first blog.
